Odysseus and his men see Trinaka, the land of Helios's cattle. Odysseus thinks about passing the land because he has been warned against it several times. His men, in the other hand, vote to stay fro a night just to recover from their lost. Odysseus agrees but says to keep out of Helios's cattle. The next morning when the are about to leave, a storm starts occurring and lasts for a month. After food supplies start running out, Helios's cattle starts looking pretty tasty. Eurylochos is very frustrated and manages to convince the men to go after the biggest cow and he'll pay off Helios by building a temple for him when they get back to Ithaca. when Odysseus returns and sees the men coking food, he goes crazy, expressing how they could die. Helios is pretty upset and asks Zeus fro revenge. Zeus sees no problem with it and assures to destroy Odysseus ship. When the storm ends, everyone goes back to ship ready to sail. However, as they were on their way home, Zeus strikes them with a thunderbolt, destroying the ship and killing everyone with it, expect for Odysseus. Exhausted, almost drowned, Odysseus makes it to Calypso's island.
